Wait on the Lord (Notes)

NOTES

Wait on the Lord

Psalm 27:14

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart;wait, I say on the Lord.

Wait in faith. God is a gentleman. There are times when God is working on you and requires action. There may be some things in your life you need to change. The refining of gold takes heat.

There are other times however that don’t require our action. We must simply wait.

He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek his face. Your consistency is going to pay off. Stop beating yourself up. He thinks highly of you. God wants to use and is already using every single one of us.

Don’t lose your praise during the storm. As we grow we must learn to praise Him with the willow and the palm leaf. That means you praise him in the good times and the bad. Sometimes it doesn’t get easier, we just get stronger.

Don’t let this world distract you from the bigger picture.

Psalm 17:15

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

When we wake we’re thinking of heaven. Of what is awaiting us. Yes, occupy till He comes but we are definitely not here to stay.

To help us along the way we must drink from the well daily. You might not struggle as much if you would just talk more to Him.

*All of this waiting and preparation and suffering is what is going to carry you in later times. During this bigger trial it’ll seem like nothing because you’re already prepared for it.

There is Hope.

Scriptures for Hope:

Psalm 37

3) Trust in the lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed 4) Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5) Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 7) Rest in the Lord….

23)The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. 24) Though he fall, he shall not utterly be cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Psalm 16:11

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Me personally

Had a low spot in my life. I’ve had some since then:) For the longest time I just sat there and could not find the words to speak. I was tired.

Message from Victor Jackson 10, 2019:

We feel guilty for being tired. Moses got tired.

Exodus 17:11-12

11) And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

12) But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

YOU ARE HUMAN

God wants to comfort you and remind you you have the anointing of endurance. I survived so I can thrive. It won’t last forever.

Psalm 34:18-20

18) The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19) Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. 20)  He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

Stop worrying as much about the problem and focus on God. He is my help. If I had it my way everything might end up in a big mess.

Luke 5:4-5

4) Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5) And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

You toiled all night. That’s why you’re qualified.

You may be young and may feel like this isn’t for you. You WILL need this in the times ahead. We’ve already talked about the struggles of life. Always remember God is your help and you WILL make it.

There’s a scripture in the back of my Dad’s bible. It just says “Phil 3:14, I Press”

This ties in with the previous lesson. “It’s a Process”.

This journey is going to take some WORK. I don’t say this to discourage you. I say this in honesty and to give you hope. Some of our best memories are made during difficult times. Think of a crazy thunder storm you’ve been in. All the family gets candles and you all come close together. I think of the hilarious hunting stories we’ve had. And those were times none of us even got a deer.

As we grow more and more, we can get confidence from previous victories. Think of Pastor’s lesson on the bamboo tree. The roots take a long time to grow but when they’re done, you better not blink.

Others

You’re not the only one. Believe it or not, there are others who have gone through what you’re going through. If they can do it, I can do it.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Be around people that will help you grow.

We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses. Saints that have gone through the most horrendous circumstances but endured to the end. It’s worth it. Elijah thought there was no one left but God had reserved 7000 that had not bowed the knee to Baal. It may seem like everyone nowadays are falling away. It may seem like what’s the point. The strong and well rooted will remain. Don’t let the peer pressure from the world bring you down. There is a very large group of people that have taken a stand. Don’t believe the devil’s lies.

God hasn’t left you

He wants you to prosper. You’ve been thinking lowly of yourself. Meanwhile God is excited for your future.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

His ways are higher. His thoughts are higher than ours. It doesn’t have to make sense. Just trust in Him. Wait in Faith. If you could see the end, it wouldn’t be faith.

Where are you God?! I can’t feel you! It’s like the song says: even when I don’t see it he’s working. Even when I don’t feel it he’s working.

He works regardless of how you feel. He’s working in the in-between times. When you’re driving to school. When you’re doing the laundry. When you’re taking out the trash.

He will never leave nor forsake us.

His Presence

We must get into His presence. This is my focus.

This has been on my mind: Just sit there and breathe.

Like a child watching their dad work on the car. Stop trying to figure it all out by yourself. He’s patiently standing there just ready to jump in. He’s watching you fumble around with the pieces not having a clue what you’re doing. “I can help you know”

I’m living right to the best of my ability God! I’m doing everything I know to do! Why is it not working!

You’re not God. Let the potter do His work. Forget what so and so is doing. Forget about the Jones’s. This is between You and God. This is YOUR journey. If someone has to compare themselves all the time then they have some confidence issues. What may seem like success is nothing to God. God is making a masterpiece. A masterpiece isn’t created overnight.

Let the presence of the Lord engulf you. Let Him wrap His arms around you. It’s Ok. It’s Ok. Every sin, every weight, every anxious thought gone. God loves you. He’s not here to make your life miserable. The big masterpieces are worked on the most. You’re special. You’ve chosen to follow Me. There is no doubt of your commitment. I see the sweat, the tears. Let out all the pressure. LET IT OUT. Intercession is not just for adults. That is when the prayer is so intense that no words can be spoken, you just groan in the Spirit. This intercession is not always for you by the way. It’s for your family, the person next to you, the problem you can’t find the words for. We were designed this way. We were designed with emotion. You’re not supposed to bottle it in. All the frustration and pressure. Let it out! Focus on God. Don’t say any words. It’s good for you. God wants you to release. Whether we are going through the toughest trial we have ever faced or we are on the mountain top, we must get into His presence. Go into the throne room of God. You are His child. You have royal blood in your veins. Do what you were made to do. There’s no right way to do it. Just do it. Some of you are at the edge of the throne room and haven’t dived in yet. Why are you standing outside? Go! Get your blessing!

So, what do we do? Just get in His presence.

The oils of the Holy Ghost are here to heal and lift you up.
